39,291 new cases of infection in Japan, Tokyo’s sixth consecutive day below the previous week’s level
Regarding the new coronavirus, 39,291 new infections were announced nationwide. This is a decrease of nearly 10,000 cases from last Sunday.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced 5,220 new cases of infection. This is a decrease of 2806 cases compared to last Sunday and the sixth consecutive day below the same day of the previous week. By age group, those in their 30s were the most infected, followed by those in their 20s.
By prefecture, there were 3,234 cases in Kanagawa Prefecture, 2,707 cases in Osaka Prefecture, and 2,568 cases in Saitama Prefecture. A total of 39,291 cases have been reported nationwide. This is a decrease of approximately 9,800 cases from last Sunday.
Of the infected hospitalized, 219 are seriously ill and 26 new deaths have been announced.
