The Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced 3,348 new cases of infection on the 15th. The average number of new cases over the last seven days was approximately 4,000, 124.3% of the number a week earlier.

After Tokyo, Osaka, Hokkaido, and Okinawa prefectures had the second highest number of infected cases, all exceeding 2,000.

A total of 35,008 new infections were announced nationwide, with 139 people seriously ill and 25 new deaths nationwide.
