Man, 71, stabbed to death in Tokyo’s Koto Ward metropolitan apartment building
TOKYO – A 51-year-old man has been arrested for stabbing a 71-year-old resident of a metropolitan apartment building in Koto Ward, Tokyo. The man who was stabbed later died.

The suspect, Yasuhiro Tokumine (51), whose address and occupation are unknown, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
According to the investigation, at around 7:50 p.m. yesterday, Tokumine allegedly stabbed Toshio Oshima (71), who lived in a room on the fourth floor of a metropolitan apartment building in Higashi-suna, Koto-ku, in the neck and other parts of the body with a fruit knife. Mr. Oshima was taken to the hospital, but later died.
Tokumine has admitted his suspicions to the police, but immediately after the incident, he called 110, saying that he had stabbed Oshima in the neck for failing to pay his rent.
Mr. Tokumine and Ms. Oshima are acquaintances, and the police are investigating the possibility that there was some kind of trouble between the two.
