Just after 2:30 p.m. on the 4th, a one-car train and a passenger car collided at a crossing of the Nagaragawa Railway in Gujo City, Gifu Prefecture. Osamu Fujikawa, 74, of Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture, who was driving the passenger car, was killed and a 71-year-old woman in the passenger seat was injured in the accident.
The seven passengers and the driver of the train were not injured. There was no circuit breaker at the crossing, only an alarm.
