The number of people infected with the new coronavirus has been announced at 78,121 nationwide today (30th). This is the largest number of people infected on a Sunday ever.

The number of newly infected patients announced today by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government was 15,895. The hospital bed utilization rate is 48.5%, and if 107 more patients are hospitalized, the hospital bed utilization rate will exceed 50%, which is the threshold to start considering requesting the government to declare a state of emergency.
According to a report by JNN, the total number of infected people in Japan today was 78,121, whic is 28,000 more from the record last Sunday and the highest number ever for a Sunday.
In addition, five prefectures, including Saitama and Chiba, announced the highest number of infected people on record. The newly announced death toll was 30. The number of people seriously ill nationwide is 767, an increase of about 15 times in one month compared to the first of this month.
