At around 10:30 a.m. today, a man sprayed a gasoline-like liquid and threatened a staff member with a knife to steal 91,000 yen in cash at a post office in Motosakurada-cho, Minami-ku, Nagoya City.
The man fled on a motorcycle, and a security camera near the scene shows a man who appears to be a post office employee chasing the motorcycle. No one was injured.
The man who fled the scene was in his 30s or 40s and about 170 centimeters tall. He was wearing a black jumper and dark blue pants.
Fifteen minutes before this, a man with similar characteristics broke into a convenience store in Midori Ward, Nagoya City, about 1.5 km away, and fled without taking anything. The police are investigating the connection.
