Coca-Cola Japan, starts drinks subscription service
Coca-Cola Japan started a beverage subscription (flat-rate billing service) using vending machines this week.
If you sign up for the service by setting up cashless payment on the official app, you can buy one drink a day from a vending machine for 2,700 yen a month.
There are about 340,000 vending machines nationwide that support this service.
Subscriptions are also being introduced in industries affected by the new coronavirus, such as fashion and food service, and according to the Yano Research Institute, the market size is about 876 billion yen, expanding nearly 30% by fiscal 2020.
