Yesterday, around 17,000 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed nationwide.
16,814 cases of new corona infection nationwide continue to decrease; Tokyo has been below the same day of the previous week for 27 consecutive days (N Star)
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced today that 1,876 new cases of new coronas have been reported. This is a decrease of 459 cases from last Thursday and the 27th consecutive day that the number of new cases has been lower than the same day of the previous week. The average number of new cases over the last seven days is approximately 1,770, which is 78.3% of the number a week ago.
By prefecture, six prefectures, including Akita and Miyagi, saw an increase over last week, while other prefectures saw a decrease. The total number of newly infected persons nationwide was also 16,814, down approximately 3,800 from last Thursday.
Of the infected hospitalized nationwide, 77 are seriously ill. Twenty-three new deaths have been announced.
