4-year old girl falls from 6th floor of a hotel from the window in Yamagata

YAMAGATA – A 4-year-old girl fell down in a hotel in Sagae, Yamagata Prefecture, on March 26, and it was found that the stopper on the window had come off causing the child to fall.

The incident happened around 5:00 p.m. where the 4-year-old girl fell from a 6th floor guest room window onto a 2nd floor balcony at the Cherry Park Hotel in Sagae, Yamagata Prefecture.
The girl suffered serious injuries, including a broken bone in her left arm, but thankfully is now is conscious and recovering.
According to the police, a family was staying in the room and the girl was playing with her sister near the window.
In addition, the room windows are equipped with stoppers, but when the police examined the room, they found that the stopper on the window through which the girl fell had been removed and the window was wide open.
The police are investigating the detailed cause of the accident, including the possibility that the child may have removed the stopper.
