YAMANASHI – Police have arrested a 19-year-old boy on suspicion of assault in an arson case in which the bodies of two people were found in a house in Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture.

In this case, there was a fire that burned down a house in Kofu City at around 3:30 a.m. yesterday morning, and two bodies were found in the burned ruins.
Morishi Inoue and his wife, who lived in the house, have not been contacted, and the police are rushing to confirm their identities. Mr. Inoue’s teenage daughter was also attacked by a suspicious man with a weapon just before the fire, and suffered bruises on her head.
The police arrested a 19-year-old boy from Kofu City on suspicion of causing injury to his daughter in the incident.
In response to the investigation, the boy admitted to the charges, saying, “There is no doubt about it,” and he also hinted at arson.
According to the investigators, the boy turned himself in at a police station in Yamanashi Prefecture on yesterday, and the police were interviewing him voluntarily.
