Just before 10:00 a.m. yesterday, a passenger car crashed through the automatic front door of a dental clinic in Mizunami City, Gifu Prefecture, and came to a stop inside.
At the time of the accident, there were a total of nine people in the building, including dentists, hygienists, and outpatients, among whom a 72-year-old woman sustained a broken rib and other serious injuries.
The passenger car was driven by a 66-year-old cab driver who lives in the city, and the man was not injured.
According to the police, the man was visiting a dental clinic for treatment, and when he tried to park his car forward in the parking lot, he ran into the door. The police are investigating the cause of the accident in detail, as it is possible that the man may have mistakenly stepped on the gas pedal and brake.
