The price increase will be for regular “Kara-Age-Kun” products, such as Regular and Red, which will be raised from 216 yen to 238 yen, including tax, starting next month 31.
The price had remained unchanged for 36 years since its launch in 1986, but the company decided to raise the price in response to soaring raw material prices and rising transportation costs.
Convenience store companies have been raising prices, with Lawson raising prices on rice balls and sandwiches as recently as last month.
In addition, 7-Eleven has been sequentially raising the prices of boxed lunches and noodles since this month, and Family Mart has also raised prices of croquettes and other items.
