Two guys, arrested for beating a man with an iron pipe, seriouly injured on the head

HOKKAIDO – On the night of April 22, two men, both also 21 years old, were arrested for hitting a 21-year-old male acquaintance in the head with an iron pipe and injuring him on a street in the town of Otodara in eastern Hokkaido.
Arrested on suspicion of injury were two suspects, Reito Kikuchi, 21, and Shota Sato, 21, both self-proclaimed demolition workers living in Obihiro City.
The two are suspected of alternately hitting a 21-year-old male acquaintance in the head and other parts of his body with an iron pipe and injuring him on a street in Hourai Higashi-machi Minami 1-chome, Otodera-cho, at around 6:00 p.m.
According to the police, the iron pipe they are believed to have used was about 50 cm long and 3 cm in diameter. The man who was hit suffered a contusion to the head and other injuries, but his life was not seriously affected.
An acquaintance of the man who was hit reported that his friend had been hit with an iron pipe by an acquaintance, and an investigation led to the arrest of the two men a little more than six hours after the incident occurred.
The two men, both 21 years old and self-proclaimed demolition workers, have admitted to the charges, and the police are continuing to investigate their motives.
