About 40,000 new cases of the new coronavirus were announced today nationwide.
About 39,642 new coronavirus infections nationwide, lower than last Thursday (N Star)
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced today that 4,172 new cases were reported. This is a 44-person decrease from last Thursday and the sixth consecutive day that the number of new cases has been lower than the same day of the previous week. By age group, those in their 20s were the most frequently infected, with 93.4% of new cases averaged over the last 7 days, compared to a week ago.
After Tokyo, Osaka had 3,156, Hokkaido 2,811, and Aichi 2,406. The national total was 39,642, a decrease of 2,092 from last week.
Of the infected hospitalized nationwide, 110 are seriously ill and 36 new deaths have been announced.
