The Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced 2,194 new infections on the 29th. This is a decrease of more than 1,000 cases from last Sunday and the 16th consecutive day below the same day of the previous week. The average number of infections over the last seven days was approximately 2,850, 80.2% of last week’s figure.

Meanwhile, in all 46 prefectures except Yamanashi Prefecture, the number of days of the week was lower than the same day of the previous week.

The number of seriously ill infected people hospitalized nationwide increased by 7 from the 28th to 88. Nineteen new deaths have been confirmed.
