Nationwide, 22,768 new cases of the new coronavirus were announced today.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced today that the number of new cases was 2,415. This is a decrease of 1,514 cases from last Wednesday and is the 19th consecutive day that the number of new cases has been lower than the same day of the previous week. The average number of new cases over the last seven days was approximately 2,400, 71.1% of the number a week ago.
Meanwhile, all prefectures are below the same day of the previous week, and the number of cases is declining nationwide. The total number of cases nationwide is 22,768, more than 10,000 fewer than last Wednesday.
Of the infected hospitalized, 95 are seriously ill. 36 new deaths have been announced.
