Regarding the new corona, the number of infected persons in Tokyo today exceeded 40,000 for the first time, and a record 233,100 cases were announced for the whole country.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced today that 40,406 new cases have been reported. This is an increase of 8,528 cases since last Thursday and the first time the number of cases has exceeded 40,000, a new record high. The average number of new cases over the past seven days is approximately 31,300, 1.7 times the number a week ago.
A total of 233,100 cases have been reported nationwide. This is an increase of approximately 47,000 cases from last Thursday and a new record high.
40 prefectures have reported more cases than the same day the previous week, and 19 prefectures, including Osaka, Aichi, and Saitama, have reported a record high number of cases.
The number of “seriously ill” infected patients hospitalized nationwide is 346, and 114 new deaths have been announced.
