TOKYO – A woman in her 20s was found stabbed to death with a kitchen knife inside an apartment in Ota Ward, Tokyo, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department made an emergency arrest of a man who turned himself in.

The woman was later confirmed dead.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, on January 13, the suspect, Hiroto Kajikawa, 21, visited the Kamata Police Station at around 5:30 p.m. and surrendered himself, saying that he had killed someone.
Police rushed to the suspect’s home and found a woman bleeding from the chest, leading to the emergency arrest of Kajikawa on suspicion of attempted murder. The woman was later pronounced dead.
A bloody kitchen knife was found near the woman.
The two are believed to be lovers, and the suspect Kajikawa told investigators, “We had an argument and I stabbed her with a kitchen knife.”
The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department is now investigating the details of the incident, changing the charge to murder.
