Four Arrested on Suspicion of Using Matching App to Mediate Prostitution

Four people were arrested on suspicion of using a matching app to promote prostitution. One suspect named Mitsuyo Hiratoko, 37 was arrested at the crime scene.

According to the police, the four are suspected of violating the Anti-Prostitution Law by arranging for prostitution between 25- and 23-year-old women in Higashi-ku, Nagoya City, in September and October of last year.
Three of the suspects, including Hiratoko, have admitted to the charges, while the other denies any involvement.
It is believed that the suspect, Hiratoko, was in charge of instructing the other three men, who pretended to be women, to recruit male customers through a matching app.
The police believe that the suspect’s group sold at least 70 million yen over a two-year period and are investigating other crimes.
