FUKUOKA – A 72-year-old man was arrested for sending 1,100 messages to a woman despite a restraining order under the Stalking Control Law.

The suspect, Tamotsu Ishimaru, an unemployed resident of Onojo City, Fukuoka Prefecture, was arrested on suspicion of violating the Stalking Control Law.
Ishimaru was issued a restraining order last June for sending messages via SNS to a 32-year-old woman living in Fukuoka Prefecture.
Nevertheless, he is suspected of sending a total of 1,107 messages including daily conversations to the woman’s smartphone between December last year and last month.
Ishimaru has admitted to the charges.
