Employee of game production company arrested for attempted murder after striking former boss with fire extinguisher

TOKYO – An employee of a game production company, was arrested by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department for attempting to kill his former boss at his workplace in Ginza, Tokyo, by hitting him on the head with a fire extinguisher.

Hiroki Yamazaki, 41, an employee of game production company Konami Digital Entertainment, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He is suspected of attempting to kill his former boss, 48, by hitting him in the head with a fire extinguisher from behind while he was working at a building in Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, at around 11:00 am.
The victim sustained minor injuries, including bruising to his head and left arm.
According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, Yamazaki had previously belonged to the same team as the man and had complained to the company of power harassment, but the company had found that there had been no power harassment.
In response to the interrogation, the Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the motive in detail, saying that Yamazaki admitted that he was still being power harassed.
