Woman, arrested for burying her newly born baby in her parent’s garden in Tokoname City

AICHI – On the 18th of April, the body of a newborn baby was found in the yard of a house in Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture, and the daughter of the mother who found the baby was arrested.

The suspect, Kotomi Minagawa, 29 years old, was arrested in Naka Ward, Nagoya City.
According to the Aichi Prefectural Police, Minagawa buried the body of hew newborn baby in the garden of her parents’ house in Yada, Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture, in mid-April. She has admitted to the police that she is guilty of the crime.
The body was found wrapped in a towel was was found by the suspect’s mother when she was weeding the garden.
The suspect told the police that she gave birth to the baby, and the police will continue to investigate the circumstances of the baby’s death.
