IBARAKI – In March 2021, a 40-year-old Indian national was rearrested on April 25 on suspicion of assault for kissing the hand of a girl, then 4 years old, on a train stopped at JR Hamamatsu Station.

The man re-arrested on suspicion of assault is an Indian national, unemployed, 40, who lives in Ushiku City, Ibaraki Prefecture.
According to the police, in late March 2021, a man is suspected of kissing the hand of a then 4-year-old girl from western Shizuoka Prefecture on an up train of the Tokaido Main Line stopped at JR Hamamatsu Station.
After receiving a report from a family member who was with him, the police identified the suspect from security camera footage and were investigating. According to the police, the man has not admitted to the charges.
The man was arrested on April 5 by the Ushiku Police Station in Ibaraki Prefecture on suspicion of theft.
