At around 4:14 p.m. on the 24th, an elementary school student was returning home when he found a piece of a man’s finger on the road in Asaro-Nishi-machi, Maizuru City.
The elementary school student then consulted his mother, who then called the police station to report that a human finger had been found.
The cut surface shows no signs of having been cut by a knife, and there is no evidence of decomposition.
Initially, no blood stains were found in the area, but on the afternoon of the 25th, a report of “blood stains” in the vicinity of the crime scene led to an investigation of security cameras in the area, which revealed a male deliveryman in his 60s living in Maizuru City.
The police interviewed the man, who said that he was working on a delivery and “got caught in a sliding door during the delivery and injured himself, but continued with the delivery,” and that he did not go to a medical facility afterward.
The police determined that there was no incident.
