OSAKA – A woman who lives with her boyfriend was arrested for pouring boiling water on him at an apartment in Osaka City, and it was learned that the two had consulted the police in the past for problems between them.

The suspect, Momoka Taniguchi, 29, of Naniwa-ku, Osaka, was arrested on suspicion of injury, etc.
According to the police, Taniguchi is suspected of scalding a man in his 30s who lives with him by pouring boiling water on him in his apartment yesterday afternoon.
The man collapsed in the bathtub and suffered burns on his upper body and multiple cuts on his face and legs.
The man later died, and the police are investigating the cause of death in detail.
The two had consulted with the police on three occasions in the past concerning problems between the suspect and the victim.
Taniguchi denies some of the charges, saying that she did not intentionally pour boiling water on the man.
