KUMAMOTO – Shortly after 11:00 a.m. on June 20, an Arao police officer found Yoshishi Maeda, 74-years old, dead in his apartment in Haramanda, Arao City, Kumamoto Prefecture. Since there were external injuries on the body, the station is investigating the possibility that Maeda may have been involved in an incident.

According to the police, around 10:30 a.m. on the same day, a female acquaintance of Maeda reported to the police that she could not reach him. When police officers visited the apartment, they found Maeda lying face down in the room, bleeding. The police will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
A female acquaintance said that after speaking with Maeda by phone about a week ago, she lost contact with him. Another male acquaintance told the interviewer that Maeda has had a man in his 60s living with him for about a month and that he had some troubles before he moved in with him.
According to the owner, the apartment building consists of two one-story wooden buildings, each of which can accommodate two families. The site is located in a corner between National Route 208 and the JR Kagoshima line, and there is a commercial facility near the apartments.
