The Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced 871 new cases of infection. The average number of new infections in the last seven days is about 775, more than ten times the number of last week.
In Hiroshima, where “measures to prevent the spread of the disease” have been initiated, the number of people infected with the disease was 672, the highest number ever recorded for four consecutive days. In Okinawa, the number of people infected with the disease is 779, almost six times the number of last Monday. In Kanagawa Prefecture, the number of cases exceeded 500 for the first time in about four months.
In addition, the number of infected people hospitalized nationwide who are seriously ill has remained unchanged from the previous day at 90, and two deaths have been confirmed nationwide.
