The new coronavirus has been reported to have infected 63,703 people in Japan yesterday.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced yesterday that 10,321 people have been newly infected. This is a decrease of 2,614 from last Sunday, and the eighth consecutive day below the same day of the previous week. The average number of new infections over the past seven days was 11,141, about 75% of last week’s total.
On the other hand, the number of new infections announced nationwide is 63,703, according to the JNN summary. By prefecture, after Tokyo, Osaka, Kanagawa, and Saitama had the most cases, in that order.
Of the infected people who have been able to be hospitalized nationwide, 1,482 are in serious condition, and 142 new deaths have been announced.
