TOKYO – A company president in his 20s was tear-sprayed by a man and robbed of his bag at a high-rise apartment in Koto-ku, Tokyo, yesterday evening. The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department is searching for the man who fled the scene as a case of robbery and assault.

Shortly after 9 p.m. yesterday, a 110 caller reported that a man in his 20s, a resident of a high-rise condominium in Shinonome, Koto-ku, was sprayed with tear gas and robbed of his bag by a man on the seventh floor passageway.
According to the police, the man is the president of a company that resells watches and was carrying two bags at the time of the incident, but the bag that was not taken from him contained about 10 million yen in cash for his business.
The man is hospitalized with minor injuries, and the police have not been able to obtain further details about the contents of the bag that was taken from him.
The man who fled the scene was in his 40s, wearing dark clothes and a hat, and the Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the incident as a case of robbery and assault.
