Yesterday, 41,038 new cases of the new coronavirus were announced nationwide. This is a decrease of more than 10,000 cases compared to last week.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced today that 6,430 new cases have been reported.
The number of cases decreased by 3,791 from last Wednesday’s 10,221, the 20th consecutive day below the same day of the previous week. The average number of new cases over the last seven days was 6292.9, approximately 75% of last week’s total.
Here are the infected cases by prefecture. After Tokyo, Osaka has the second highest number of cases with 4,790. There were 3158 in Aichi and 2831 in Kanagawa.
The number of infected people hospitalized nationwide who are considered “seriously ill” is 916, and 116 new deaths have been announced.
