Landslide accident in Tochigi kills two workers
TOCHIGI – Two construction workers were caught in a landslide at a bridge construction site in Tochigi Prefecture. They were later rescued, but their deaths have been confirmed.

Just after 3:00 p.m. on the afternoon of the 14th, earth and sand collapsed during quake-resistant reinforcement work on a bridge over the Tohoku Expressway in Nasushiobara City, Tochigi Prefecture, and two workers, Takehiro Murakoshi (25) and Ryosuke Asari (20), were caught in the collapse.
They were rescued about an hour later but were pronounced dead at the hospital. According to the police, the earth and sand collapsed along with the steel plates used to hold the soil in place, and the police are investigating the cause of the accident.
