Kochi: 72-year-old man arrested for ramming a car into a cafe, sending five female customers to hospital
KOCHI CITY – On the morning of the 10th, a car rammed into a cafe near JR Kochi Station in Kochi City.
Just after 9:00 a.m. on the 10th, a passenger car that was trying to park in the store’s parking space ran into the cafe.
According to the police and fire department, five female customers in their 30s to 70s, including two pregnant women, were rushed to the hospital with minor injuries.
A person who witnessed the accident said, “Immediately after the accident, there were several customers lying on the floor. Chairs were scattered all over the place.”
The police arrested Masaru Okamura, 72, who was driving the passenger car, on the spot on suspicion of negligent driving and injury, and are investigating the detailed cause of the accident.
