Tokyo: 591 new infections, 72 seriously ill
TOKYO – The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has announced that 591 people have been infected with the new coronavirus.
This is the first time in about two months since March 10 that the average number of new infections over the past seven days has decreased by about 6% from last week.
By age group, those in their twenties accounted for the largest number of cases at 151, while those aged 65 and above, who are at high risk of serious illness, accounted for 72.
Of the patients currently hospitalized, 72 are in serious condition, an increase of 3 from the previous day.
