As of 6:30 p.m. on the 23rd, 113 people nationwide have been reported to be infected with the new coronavirus.

The Tokyo metropolitan government announced 17 new cases on the 23rd, up two from 15 last Tuesday, and the 12th consecutive day that the number of cases has fallen below 30. The average number of tests conducted in the last three days is about 3,400. The number of people who are considered “seriously ill” by the metropolitan government’s standards is eight, and no new deaths have been reported.
By prefecture, 14 cases were reported in Hokkaido, followed by Tokyo, and 13 cases in Osaka. In addition, 26 prefectures have not announced any cases. Of the infected people hospitalized nationwide, 60 were in serious condition and two new deaths were reported.
