08/21/2023 OSAKA - A 34-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of leaving a newborn baby she gave birth to in a restroom at her workplace.

The arrested suspect, Natsumi Koseki, is suspected of giving birth to a baby boy inside the toilet bowl at her part-time job's restroom in Abeno Ward, Osaka City, on the 16th of this month and leaving him there, causing his death. According to reports, Koseki complained of stomach pain during her work shift and entered the restroom for about two hours. Worried colleagues called the emergency services. Responding to the paramedics' request, when Koseki opened the door, the newborn baby was found in the toilet bowl. Koseki reportedly stated that she was in a state of shock and couldn't seek help.
